We are staying in a hotel in Pasco, Washington for a softball tournament this weekend. For dinner tonight, my mom and I made an awesome meal in our hotel microwave! We cooked salmon and steamed some asparagus and green beans. It was super easy, quick, and tasty.
This was my first time cooking fish in a microwave. All we did was salt and pepper the fish and put it on a microwave safe dish. We put the dish in a large plastic bag that wasn’t sealed. We microwaved it for about 5 minutes and then checked to see if it was done. It needed about 2 more minutes to cook the center all the way through. It tasted great with some lemon juice squeezed over it.
For the vegetables, we just put them in a bowl with a tiny bit of water. We microwaved them for, again, 5 minutes, and they were steamed really nicely. I can’t believe how simple this meal was!
Next time you are in a hotel, think about making some sort of 10 minute microwave meal. It was a self cooked meal that was faster, easier, and cheaper than going out to a restaurant. It was also super healthy.
