Quinoa is a great source of protein and is packed with vitamins and minerals. We picked up some tri-color quinoa the last time we were at the store. It is a blend of white quinoa, red quinoa, and black quinoa.
All three varieties of quinoa provide about the same amount of nutritional value. They all have a similar taste as well. White quinoa, being the most common, is often just called quinoa. It doesn’t hold its shape as well as the red quinoa does when it’s cooked. This makes the red quinoa handy in recipes such as cold salads. I have heard that black quinoa has a sweeter taste than the other two varieties. It keeps its dark color when it’s cooked as well.
The quinoa blend was great. I love eating quinoa as a healthy grain. It tastes great and provides so much!
