Buying a Whole Chicken

Today, I expanded my knowledge in the kitchen a little bit more by cutting up a whole chicken. I separated the breasts, thighs, legs, and wings. It’s a good skill to know how to do.

There are some benefits to buying a whole chicken instead of just tenders or breasts. It is a lot cheaper for starters. You do, however, have a whole chicken to use. This is when the skills of seperating the parts comes in handy. Making stock out of the bones is great to do to, like I mentioned in an earlier post.

Tonight, I baked the breasts, thighs, legs, and wings all together. There are many different ways to cook the separate parts, like pan searing the breasts for example. I love having the whole chicken handy in the kitchen. There are so many things you can do with it!
