Filo dough is an extremely thin dough usually used to make layered pasteries such as baklava. We bought filo dough just to experiment with it. Tonight we made filo cups.
I layered filo sheets with olive oil and then cut them into small squares. I baked them in muffin cups for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. They came out in super cute cups, great for stuffing with fillings.
You could do so much with these. Brushing the sheets with melted butter and sprinkling them with cinnamon and sugar could make a base for an apple pie inspired cup. They are perfect for little stuffed appetizers or desserts.
