Tonight I made a chai spice latte. The spice blend consisted of 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon ground cloves, 2 tablespoons ground ginger, ½ teaspoon ground black pepper, ¼ teaspoon nutmeg, and 2 teaspoons ground cardamom. I mixed it in a jar to keep it fresh. I brought milk and water to a boil and added about 1 1/2 teaspoons of the spice blend and 1 teaspoon of honey. I simmered this for 5-7 minutes and then strained it. I threw it in the blender more like 5 seconds to make it frothy. So delicious!

Hi! My name is Chloe Long. I am 12 years old, and I am going into 7th grade. Three summers ago, I was the winner from the state of Montana for the Healthy Kids Lunchtime Challenge. I entered an original recipe called "What You Don't Like Tofu?!" Stir fry. I got to go to a lunch with 53 other winners (from 50 other United States and 4 territories) at the White House. We got to meet Michelle Obama, and she dined with us as well. It was an amazing, unforgettable experience. I have always been into cooking and healthy eating, but this past summer I really got into it. I love to cook meals to my liking, and health is very important to me. Exercising and eating healthy food keeps me feeling great and energized. I decided to start this blog to teach other young kids about the importance in healthy eating, and how fun cooking for yourself, family, and friends can be. I will be posting recipes, pictures, and facts about my meals that I make through out the upcoming school year. It can be hard to have good, healthy meals when you have a busy schedule. I will be giving tips and tricks for packable lunches, energizing breakfasts, and great dinners. With a combination of exercise and awesome food, I hope everyone has a wonderful, healthy school year. Happy cooking! View all posts by Chloe Long
