Compost and Pig Scraps

We got our pigs for 4-H last a couple weekends ago! They eat a ton and we want them to weigh a lot for the fair so we have to fatten them up. We are collected food scraps for them. It’s a great way to get rid of all of the food that would be put to waste. We are raising the pigs for their meat. I think it is a neat yet interesting concept. It’s a great way to know where your food comes from.

We are also collecting compost for our garden that we are planting. We collect old egg shells, coffee ground, banana peels, etc. it creates great fertilizer for the plants. I’m excited to have tons of fresh veggies right in my yard!
